Changelly Review 2026: Fees, KYC & Alternatives

Superswap.cx is a crypto swap service with no account and no KYC: there is no registration, and identity documents are not routinely requested. It swaps 17 assets: BTC, ETH, XMR, ZEC, LTC, SOL, BCH, DASH, XRP, DOGE and ADA, plus USDT and USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), Tron (TRC-20) and Solana. Fees are built into the displayed rate, swaps are processed in 5–30 minutes after the deposit is confirmed, and the minimum swap is $50. The main difference: Changelly lists 1,000+ cryptocurrencies, far more than Superswap.cx, but a swap its risk-scoring system flags is put on hold until you provide ID, and its terms exclude users in the United States and several other countries.

Changelly is one of the longer-running crypto swap services, launched in April 2015. It exchanges 1,000+ cryptocurrencies and also sells crypto by card through payment partners. This review covers what the service offers as of 19 October 2026 — fees, KYC policy, the app, restricted countries, and where it falls short for users who prioritize privacy.

Skip the friction. Swap crypto without KYC.

Superswap.cx is a non-custodial instant exchange. No account, no email, and ID documents are not routinely requested.

  • ✅ No KYC — no registration, and ID documents are not routinely requested
  • ✅ No registration, no email — just an address
  • ✅ Full XMR & ZEC support — privacy coins always available
  • ✅ 5–30 minute settlement — flat fee in the rate
  • ✅ Non-custodial — funds never sit on the platform

What Is Changelly?

Changelly is a centralized exchange service that sources rates from trading platforms and executes your swap at the best rate it finds. Its own guide starts with creating an account with your email; you then pick the coins, enter a destination address, send funds and receive the exchanged asset. Changelly says it does not store users' crypto between swaps.

The service lists 1,000+ cryptocurrencies, including Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), and also sells crypto by card through third-party payment providers, which run their own ID checks.

Changelly Fees: What You Actually Pay

Changelly's terms set the fee by rate type. Here's what that means in practice:

  • Floating-rate swaps: 0.25% fee taken from the output amount. The floating rate is an estimate, so the final amount can differ from the quote.
  • Fixed-rate swaps: Changelly locks a rate for 15 minutes (20 minutes for BTC, XMR, LTC and a few others). No separate fee percentage is published, so compare the amount you receive.
  • Network fees: Charged on top of the service fee. The estimate is shown when you create the order, and the final network fee can differ.
  • Card purchases: Handled by third-party payment providers, with their own fees depending on the provider and your region.

The 0.25% fee applies to floating-rate crypto-to-crypto swaps, and the network fee comes on top. Always check the final amount before confirming.

Does Changelly Require KYC?

This is the most important question for privacy-conscious users, and the answer is: it depends, and you can't predict when it will apply to you.

Changelly does not run an ID check on every swap up front. Its AML/KYC policy says that when its risk-scoring system flags a transaction as suspicious, the transaction is put on hold and Changelly collects your full name, date of birth, address and a government photo ID, checked through Sum & Substance. Its higher-risk list includes exchanges of privacy coins, transfers above the FATF threshold, activity from higher-risk countries and politically exposed persons.

When a swap is flagged, it stays on hold until the review is done. If a swap can't be completed, Changelly's terms say a refund usually takes 1–7 business days after you confirm a refund address, less applicable fees. Its KYC records are kept for five years.

There is no published amount below which you are never checked. Changelly's homepage describes basic verification (a passport, for trading up to €10,000 per 48 hours) and advanced verification above that. For users who need consistent, predictable privacy, this is a meaningful risk.

Card purchases go through third-party payment providers, which run their own ID checks.

Changelly Supported Countries

Changelly publishes a list of restricted locations in its terms of use (last updated December 2024). You may not use the service if you are located in, or a national or resident of:

  • Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela or Yemen
  • Crimea or the Donetsk and Luhansk regions
  • The United States (including all territories), the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Japan, India or Hong Kong
  • Any other place where using the service would break local law; Changelly can restrict further locations at its discretion

Card purchase availability also depends on the payment provider and your country.

The Changelly App

Changelly has a mobile app available for both Android and iOS. The app mirrors the web experience: floating and fixed-rate swaps, and card purchases where supported.

Changelly app download Android: Available on Google Play. iOS: Available on the App Store under the same name.

Changelly's account rules apply in the app too: its terms tie the service to an account with a verified email. Be aware that an account means your swap history is stored on Changelly's servers and linked to your email.

Where Changelly Falls Short for Privacy-Focused Users

Changelly is a legitimate service with a long track record. But it has structural limitations for users who prioritize privacy:

  • Unpredictable KYC: No fixed threshold means any swap could be held for identity verification
  • Data retention: KYC records are kept for five years under its AML policy, and an account links your swaps to your email
  • Centralized control: Flagged swaps are put on hold until you pass verification
  • Restricted countries: Users in the US, the UK, Germany and many other countries are excluded by its terms

A No-KYC Alternative: Superswap.cx

If consistent privacy is the priority, Superswap.cx operates differently by design. There is no registration and no login, and ID documents are not routinely requested. You provide a destination address, send your crypto, and receive the swapped asset. No account is created, no data is retained beyond what's needed to process the transaction.

Supported pairs include major privacy-friendly routes:

  • BTC to XMR — convert Bitcoin to Monero without KYC
  • ETH to XMR — swap Ethereum for Monero privately
  • BTC to USDT — move between Bitcoin and stablecoins

Settlement takes 5-30 minutes. The fee is flat and included in the displayed rate — no surprises at checkout. See the full list of supported pairs for all available combinations across BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, XMR, ZEC, and USDT.

The tradeoff: fewer supported coins than Changelly, and no card purchase option. If you need to buy crypto with a credit card or need an obscure altcoin, Changelly is more capable. If you need a private, no-account swap between major assets, Superswap is the cleaner option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Changelly require KYC?

Not on every swap up front, but Changelly's risk-scoring system can put a swap on hold and ask for ID: name, date of birth, address and a photo document. No threshold is published; its AML policy treats privacy-coin exchanges and transfers above the FATF threshold as higher risk. Basic verification covers trading up to €10,000 per 48 hours. Card purchases go through payment providers that run their own ID checks.

What are Changelly's fees?

Floating-rate swaps carry a 0.25% fee taken from the output amount. Fixed-rate swaps lock a rate for 15–20 minutes, with no separate percentage published. The network fee comes on top; it is estimated when you create the order and can differ at the end. Card purchases are priced by the third-party payment provider.

Is Changelly available in the US?

No. Changelly's terms of use (last updated December 2024) list the United States, including all territories, as a restricted location, together with the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Japan, India, Hong Kong and several other countries. Changelly may restrict other locations at its discretion.

How long do Changelly swaps take?

Changelly gives an average of 5 to 40 minutes per swap; blockchain congestion can make it longer. If its risk system flags a swap for review, the swap stays on hold until verification is complete, and no turnaround time is published.

Is there a Changelly app for Android?

Yes. Changelly publishes apps for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store). The apps offer the same swaps as the website, and the same risk checks apply whichever one you use.

Is Changelly safe?

Changelly has operated since 2015 and says it does not store users' crypto: funds pass through only for the swap, not into a balance. The practical risks are a swap held for a compliance review while the market moves, or living in one of the countries its terms exclude.

What is a no-KYC alternative to Changelly?

Superswap.cx is a non-custodial swap service with no registration and no account, and it does not routinely request identity documents. It supports BTC, ETH, LTC, SOL, XMR, ZEC, and USDT on multiple chains. Settlement is 5 to 30 minutes with a flat fee included in the displayed rate — no separate compliance review can pause your transaction.
