Most apps that sell crypto for a card or bank transfer ask for ID before your first purchase. You can still get a first coin without uploading documents: buy it from another person on a peer-to-peer (P2P) platform, use a Bitcoin ATM that sells small amounts without ID, or get paid in crypto. Once you hold any coin, you can swap it to the one you actually want with no account.
To be clear from the start: we run Superswap.cx, and we only swap crypto for crypto. We do not sell crypto for cash, cards or bank transfers. This guide explains the routes that do take money, then shows where a swap fits. Details of other platforms come from their official websites, checked on October 22, 2026.
The easiest first coins to get without ID are Bitcoin (the most P2P offers and ATMs) and Monero (through Haveno). From either one, a swap takes you to BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC, SOL, XMR, ZEC, BCH, DASH, XRP, DOGE or ADA.
| Route | Pay with | ID check | Speed | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bisq Easy (Bisq 2) | Bank transfer and other fiat methods | None | Hours, depending on the seller | Small trades only (up to about $600); sellers usually price above market |
| Bisq 1 | Dozens of fiat payment methods | None | Hours to days | You lock a security deposit in BTC, so you need some bitcoin first |
| Haveno (RetoSwap) | SEPA, ACH, PayPal, Cash App, cash by mail or in person, or crypto | None | Hours | Monero on one side of every trade; deposit in XMR unless the offer has none |
| Peach Bitcoin, Hodl Hodl | Payment methods chosen by each trader | None (no registration or verification, per their sites) | Depends on the trader | Bitcoin only |
| Bitcoin ATM | Cash | Varies by operator and location | Minutes | Prices well above market; many machines now ask for ID |
| Getting paid in crypto | Your work or goods | None from a platform | When you are paid | You need your own wallet; the payer chooses the coin |
Whichever route you use, receive the coins in a wallet you control. Then the swap step needs nothing more than the address of the wallet for your new coin.
On a P2P platform you buy from another person, not from a company. You agree on a price and a payment method, the seller's coins are held in escrow, you pay outside the platform, and the coins are released when the seller confirms your payment. None of the platforms below ask for ID.
Bisq is open-source desktop software for Windows, macOS and Linux that runs over Tor and stores your data on your own computer. There are two versions. Bisq Easy, inside Bisq 2, is built for first-time buyers: no trade fee and no deposit for the buyer, with sellers vouched for by a reputation score instead. It suits small amounts, up to about $600 per trade. Bisq 1 handles larger trades, but both sides lock a security deposit in BTC. Our Bisq review covers fees and limits.
Haveno is open-source software for trading Monero person to person, based on Bisq's design. RetoSwap is the largest public network running it, with apps for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. You can buy XMR with SEPA, ACH, PayPal, Cash App, cash by mail or in person, or with BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH or USDT. Security deposits are paid in XMR, but RetoSwap also has no-deposit offers for people who hold no Monero yet. Start with our Haveno guide and the RetoSwap review.
Peach Bitcoin is a P2P app for Android (iOS through TestFlight) that needs no registration or verification. Hodl Hodl is a website where trades use a multisig escrow, so the platform never holds your coins, and it also needs no verification. Both trade Bitcoin only, against payment methods each trader chooses.
A Bitcoin ATM takes cash and sends coins to a wallet address you show it as a QR code. Machines are run by many different operators, and each sets its own rules. Some sell small amounts after only a phone-number check; many now ask for ID on every purchase. Limits and checks vary by operator and location, so look at the machine's screen or the operator's website before you go. Map sites such as Coin ATM Radar list machines with the coins they sell and whether they also buy.
The catch is price. ATMs usually charge well above the market rate, so they suit a small first purchase rather than regular buying. The screen shows how much BTC you will get before you insert cash. Have your wallet's receiving address ready as a QR code, and check the coin and network the machine sends.
The simplest no-KYC route needs no platform at all: earn the coins. Freelancers, shops and sellers of second-hand goods can ask to be paid in crypto, and friends or family can send you coins directly. All you share is a receiving address.

Buying USDT? There is no common P2P market that sells USDT for local money without ID, so the practical route is BTC or XMR first, then a swap to USDT on Tron, Ethereum or Solana. Our stablecoin networks guide explains which network to pick.
Yes, but not from apps that sell crypto for a card or bank transfer, because most of them check ID. The usual no-KYC routes are peer-to-peer platforms such as Bisq and Haveno (RetoSwap), some Bitcoin ATMs for small amounts, and getting paid in crypto. Once you hold one coin, you can swap it to another on Superswap.cx with no account.
Yes. Bisq, Peach Bitcoin and Hodl Hodl let you buy BTC from another person without an identity check, and some Bitcoin ATMs sell small amounts without ID. ATM limits and checks vary by operator and location, and many machines now ask for ID on every purchase.
Get BTC or XMR first through a peer-to-peer platform, an ATM or a payment, then swap it to USDT on Superswap.cx. You can receive USDT on Tron, Ethereum or Solana. There is no account and no ID check, and swaps start at $50.
No. Superswap.cx only swaps one cryptocurrency for another. It does not accept cash, cards or bank transfers. You need a first coin from another route, and then you can swap it to any of the 13 coins we support.
It can be, if you use a platform with escrow, pay only with the method named in the offer, start with a small trade and prefer traders with a history. Download the apps only from their official websites, and keep all trade messages inside the platform.
